First piece for 2017, prepped in pencil from December. Charcoal and Coloured pencils on Construction Paper. It feels good to be back in the game after a break due to business.

This was a joy to work being my first attempt using this surface. It is in learning that we become better. The use of the white Charcoal pencil made the difference amongst the black.
Certain aspects of this piece had it’s challenges but I got it in the end. And I’m glad I took pics of the steps along the way. Changes in light meant some were taken during the day others at night.
Taking shots during the work is a great idea for future reference, especially when a piece takes longer than expected. That wasn’t the case with this but just saying.
